Soles4Souls Canada

Floodlight is proud to be a supporter of Soles4Souls Canada.

In Canada Soles4Souls was started by Jim Belshaw in Kelowna, BC in the spring of 2010.

The first year Jim set a goal of 25,000 and raised over 40,000 pairs of shoes.

In 2011 Jim Belshaw extended his efforts to the interior of British Columbia and raised an additional 100,000 pairs of shoes.

Soles4Souls Canada Million Shoe Mission

April 1st to April 30th 2012

Canada is to collect 1 million pairs of shoes in Canada within the next 5 years.

Who is Soles4Souls?  – About Soles4Souls® -

Soles4Souls is a Nashville-based charity that collects shoes from warehouses of footwear companies and the closets of people like you.

We distribute these shoes, free of charge, to people in need around the world. Since 2005, Soles4Souls has given away over 7 million pairs of new and gently worn shoes (currently distributing one pair every 9 seconds).

The shoes have been distributed in 125 countries, including Haiti, Kenya, Nepal and the United States. Visit www.giveshoes.org  for more information.

Who is Jim Belshaw and Soles4Souls  Canada?

Jim Belshaw is a proud Rotarian who bought Roy’s Shoes four years ago and is committed to his community and his country Canada.

He is a huge supporter of Kelowna charities and with his business Roy’s Shoes Boot and Repair has offered great service, quality comfort shoes and shoe repair in Kelowna’s downtown core.

Jim donates through Roy’s Shoes a $1.00 of every shoe repair to his local and international community. Last year his donations topped $7000.00.

Jim started Soles4Souls Canada so that he could help children and adults in Canada and around the world from his store in Kelowna BC Canada.

In Canada Jim has the full support of Soles4Souls USA and this his past year Jim supported the people in Slave Lake by sending 2000 pairs of shoes to help in their relief efforts

Jim’s goal is to collect 1 million pairs of shoes in Canada within the next 5 years.

Soles4Souls® History

Since its inception in 2005, Soles4Souls have distributed over 13.5 million pairs of shoes, supports 127 countries and is committed to assisting Japan with 100,000 pairs of shoes already shipped with more to come. Whether it’s Southeast Asia, New Orleans, Haiti, Africa, or Japan, Soles4Souls is committed to helping people in the midst of extreme poverty and those recovering from natural disasters by providing shoes that will protect them from disease and provide them a sense of hope for a better tomorrow.

The past years tragedy in Japan and Haiti reminds us of the 300 million children around the world who live a life of tragedy and disaster every day. By giving them the gift of shoes, you tell them that it’s possible to dream beyond their current situation and remind them that there are people who love and care about them.
